No dust jacket as issued. Heavy bump to bottom right corner, slight rub to foot, otherwise fine. iii, 105 p., photos, maps. Quarto. The 3rd Bombardment Group (3rd BG), officially 3rd Bombardment Group (Light) was also known by its historical name the 3rd Attack Group (3rd Attack). Nicknamed "The Grim Reapers". Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF) in the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) during World War II. On April 2, 1942 Lt. Col. John H. Davies became the Commanding Officer (C. O.), formally the commander of the 27th Bombardment Group (27th BG). On May 25, 1943 redesignated 3rd Bombardment Group (3rd BG).
