Gilt vignette on front board of a man leading a camel. Slight lean to spine. T.e.g. Endpapers age-toned and lightly toned throughout. Previous owner's dated signature (1909) to f.f.e. very good An attractive copy of the British first edition of this African hunting title by the author of the Man Eaters of Tsavo. Patterson was an Irish soldier, author, hunter and eventual game warden in East Africa. He was portrayed by Val Kilmer in the Academy Award winning film, the Ghost in the Darkness, a tale of man eating lions in Kenya. The book offered here gives accounts of Patterson's time in Africa, including a return to Tsavo, hunting for a variety of African Big Game, and interactions with the local Masai. 1909
