Tan cloth lettered in gilt on the spine; edges a trifle marked; a near-fine copy with the fine dustwrapper. The first American edition of Upfield's sixth novel; one of only 450 copies. Arthur William Upfield (1890-1964), writer and bushman, is best known for his series of 29 crime novels featuring the part-Aboriginal detective Napoleon Bonaparte (who does not appear in this novel).
