New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1883. First Edition. HB. Blindstamped blue cloth, gilt lettering on front cover and spine, 12 mo., 267pp + ads. History of the naval campaign during the Civil War, especially on the Mississippi and its' tributaries and also the Red River expedition. With 8 maps, 3 being fold-out. Owner's rather nice bookplate front paste-down, no marks in book, binding tight. Gilt lettering on spine rubbed, faint white mark on spine. First edition of the author's first book. Book condition VG. Volume III of The Navy In The Civil War series.
