First edition of this World War II tale of action and adventure, as three soldiers work to sabotage the guns wreaking havoc on their comrades; adapted into an Oscar-winning film. 8'' x 5.25''. Original blue cloth binding with gilt lettering to spine. Original unclipped (14s) color pictorial dust jacket. One map in black and white. 318 pages. Jacket with a bit of edgewear, light soil; long vertical closed tear to rear panel, repaired with thick tape to verso. Binding corners and spine ends lightly bumped. Bright overall.
