Beautifully illustrated: engraved frontispiece portraying the author (P. van Guust f.), engraved titlepage (Ph. Tiedeman delin., J. Muller sculp.), printer's mark on titlepage (Terar, Dum Prosim), decorative initials and endpieces, with 2 fold out engravings (H.L. Spiegel figurari & sculpi curavit, ac Doctiss. Ornatiss., D. Pet. Paaw in Lugdun. Acad. Profess. Medico D.D. 1604) and 8 single page engravings illustrating the section entitled "Verderf-traps beeld-schrift ofte Heilighe Letteren dat is Hieroglifica". With printed dedication to Joannes Hudde and a printed letter from H.L. Spiegel to Dr. Peter Paaw (121-130 pp.)
