Description:
[Berlin]: Der Viewbucher, no date, late 19thC. Glossy monochrome (b&w) lithographed urban scenes in a familiar format: these are based on photography with artists' touch-ups and reproduced on a single long leaf folded accordion-style. Find 36 plates (several are vignette multiples and one a double panorama), the long leaf coated and tinted orange-y cream with red line-drawn frames for each image, the enclosing 4x6 inch red cloth folder is embossed and decorated in black & gilt (front cover) and in blind (back cover), it is a little shaky from age and handling, the long leaf ditto with a short closed tear at one fold-line; moreover, expect a quarter-inch adhesion scar upon das Konigliche Opernhaus. A small corner of back cover is faded to pink. A fair to good-only exemplar.

Soft cover. oblong8vo, 12x 20cm, with 12 photographs, illustrated wraps, string bound, wrapper edges slgihtly toned else in fine sound condition,(Pol). ~ One of the first theme parks in the United States, Busch Gardens was first built in 1906 on 38 acres by Adolphus Busch. It became a leading California tourist destination and was often used as scenes for movies, including "Gone with the Wind". As a theme park, Busch Gardens paved the way for modern parks including Disneyland.

Taxidermist trade card pasted to inside of rear board. Some wear at rear hinge, boards a but dulled. Very good. An uncommon Colorado viewbook published by W.H. Lawrence, booksellers and stationers from Denver.  Very detailed plates of the Garden of the Gods, Manitou, Alpine Pass, Middle Park, and others.  Several of the scenes include railroads and trains.  Interesting trade card of W. J. Roudy and Co. of Colorado Springs, dealers in mounted birds, furs, skins & robes, attached at rear.   OCLC cites 9 listings under this title, and of the same pagination, though varying dates.
