About This Item
New York: Random House, 1973. Hardcover. 8vo. Blue cloth spine with gilt lettering and green paper over boards, pictorial dust jacket. 182pp. Near fine/near fine. A superb and tight first edition of the 28th volume in 87th Precinct series, the famed police procedural novels -- and this copy with choice autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf are signatures of three members of the cast from the original 1961-62 television crime drama series, each on identical heavy stock 5" X 3" cards: (top to bottom) Robert Lansing (1928-94) in black fineline, dated by him 12 March 1973; Gregory Walcott (1928-2015) in blue fineline, dated by him 25 March 1985; and Gena Rowlands (born 1930) in purple marker, dated by her June 1988. Each is fine and bold. Laid in are the perfect bookmarks -- the original cancelled transmittal envelopes for the Lansing and Walcott signatures. A superb, one-of-a-kind copy.
