E. Marlborough, London., 1862. First edition. Octavo. pp xii, 291. Illustrations in the text by C.W. Sheeres. Publisher's binding of green sand grained cloth with elaborate decoration in gilt on spine and front and in blind on rear; all edges gilt. The author was a novelist and journalist; her particular field of interest was Wedgwood pottery.Contemporary (1862) gift inscription on half-title page. Rear inner hinge cracked. Very good indeed. An impressive example of mid-Victorian decorated cloth.
