About This Item
Delfino- Edizione d'Arte, Roma., 1985. First edition thus: illustrated with ten colour lithographs from darwings by Henry Moore. Large folio. 102 pages. The plates have captioned tissue guards. Binding of full burgundy morocco with a bronze bas-relief on the upper cover. Unabridged English text suggested by Dr Stanley Wells who writes one of the two forewords; the other is by John Gielgud. Editorial note in Italian at rear.Number 250 of 1200 copies, although it seems to be accepted that nowhere near that many copies were in fact printed. The book is held in a heavy sculpted stand covered in burgundy suede. This has faded, as, to a lesser extent, have the exposed parts of the books covers. Slight rubbing to rear joint. Near fine, and a sight to behold.
