London and Sydney: Angus&Robertson, 1983. Not stated. Hardcover. Very Good +. 133 small HC, no DJ, black boards with white title and author on spine, very nice, clean, unmarked copy. Description:
Sydney, Australia: Angus & Robertson, 1983. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Clean, tight, unmarked; minimal wear; This is the story of Hanabeke: the story of a boy sent upon a man's mission into the empty landscapes and wild railroad camps of the Australian outback in the early 1930s. Based on the author's own experiences, this novel brings to life a fascinating Australian subculture, long disappeared and fast fading from memory - that of the outback Depression 'bagmen', city unemployed trekking dusty country roads and jumping cattle trains in the endless search of work.
