Original hand colored lithographs of "Wa - Pel - La Chief of the Musquakees". Philadelphia: F.W. Greenough, 1838 From McKenney and Hall's monumental Indian Tribes of North America. a series of hand colored lithographs on prominent Native Americans. Printer I. T. Bowen's Lithographic Establishment Publishers ca. 1838. Print shows Wa-Pel-La, half-length portrait, with colorful Native American headdress, feathered shawl, and portrait medallion on his chest. This original hand-colored Lithograph print is matted and framed but not under glass anymore. Frame size is aprox 22"x 18". Has minor aging to paper but colorful and in very good condition.
