Top edge gilt. 312 pp. A tight, near fine example, spine lettering partially rubbed. One of the better and more sought after early 20th century hostessing books, offering tips and guidance for suburban and rural women in thier entertaining. The country-dweller is contrasted with the city-dweller and her poarticlar issues and problems are explored. Included are sections on picniocs and "country frolics", country weddings, house parties, afternoon teas and receptions, "How To Give An Agreeable Dinner", "Twentieth Century Costume Dances and Masked Balls", patriotic entertainments, card parties, "Bachelor Entertainments", progressive dinners, etc.
