Toronto, Ontario: Toronto, ON.: McClelland & Stewart / M&S, 1985, 1st Edition, First Printing , 1985. -----------( 1st Printing of the First edition ) ---hardcover, a Very Good+ example with a bit of light rubbing at spine tips, a pretty nice copy but there are about 15 pages with some ink underlining, the underlining can be just a word or three but there are some sentences underlined (who knows why), there was also pencil underlining in places which have now been erased (a few instances shows an impression on the paper from the underlining but again nothing too serious), there are a few pages with small stains (see scan for the largest of the stains), one very small mark on fore edge of text block---this sounds worse that it really is ---in a Good or better dustjacket with some chips and short tears, some sunning to the spine of the jacket, jacket is now in a hi-quality mylar protector, in a Good dustjacket with a bit of light rubbing, some short closed tears, small chips, looks quite nice… Read More

A lovely copy of a now Canadian classic. Except for a small bump on the bottom of the back (as pictured), book is fine. Unclipped DJ is very good-plus. Small tear top left front of DJ, some light surface bumping on back of DJ, and a bruise over the "l" in "Tale."

Lightly rubbed on ends of spine and (1 inch) along top edge, slightly cocked, lower corners bumped and bowed, faint stain (1/8 inch) on fore and bottom edge, pencil erasure shadow (3 numbers) on fly-title page, else pages spotless and binding firm. Overall, very good plus. DJ darkened on the inside, creased along folds, creased and lightly chipped along top and bottom edge, two small closed tears (1/4 and 1/8 inch) in rear upper edge, spine faded, light scratches on rear, else very good minus. Protected in Mylar.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/Very Good Minus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

A fine second printing of the first Canadian edition in a fair dust jacket. Staining to lower spine and 2cm tear to front lower left corner, shown in picture. It is otherwise intact and not price-clipped.
