New York: Ballantine Books, 1957. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Laid is a typed letter signed (TLS) by Dorothy M. Johnson on her personal letterhead. Western novel set in the gold fields of Montana, which served as the basis for the 1959 Delmer Daves film starring Gary Cooper, Maria Schell, Karl Malden, and George C. Scott. Octavo. Original burgundy cloth binding, with a blind-stamped design to the front panel and gilt titles. The dust jacket is price-clipped, with some very mild wear; else very good or better.
