Near Fine only because of the small red stamp of a Memorial Library in LIBERIA--where the Companions once worked--at the bottom of the title page and table of contents. [We find the stamp a plus but are obligated to downgrade Very Fine to Near Fine.] Otherwise, it's a SUPERIOR COPY: tight, bright, and clean with a Very meaningful INSCRIPTION on the front free endpaper.<br/><br/>Remarkable and very well written, often breathtaking retrospective narrative by an intrepid woman formerly in the Peace Corps, who managed with other brave female Corps' workers to cross safely (!) from Liberia over thousands of miles through the dangerous Sahara desert. <br/><br/>Sir Richard Burton. Charles Doughty, and Charles Wellington Furlong would, I believe, All have been highly impressed.
