Starting in 1890, this is the story of Nathan Kallison, a Jewish immigrant, from Ukraine, who ended up in South Texas and created an important business empire. Evading the Cossacks in Ukraine, they emigrated to Chicago, then to San Antonio where he worked as a harness maker and eventually built the largest farm and ranch supply business in the Southwest. The author has won a Pulitzer Prize, 2 Robert Kennedy Awards and a bunch of other stuff. He is also Nathan Kallison's grandson. A great story well told. The book is in fine, nearly unread condition. The author has inscribed and signed the book on the title page.
