Brilliant coloured illustration throughout, 14 full or double page and other smaller ones. Harquin disobeys his mother and explores the valley at night bringing the family into danger when a gamekeeper spots him. But he saves them by bravely leading the hunt astray across the marshes. 3 small scratches to lower cover, small pale ink stamped name to top corner of front pastedown and reverse of front endpaper (see image), original price label removed from lower cover without leaving a mark, slight faint foxing to title page and margins of final page.
