About This Item

Vancouver, British Columbia: Vancouver, BC: Raincoast / Bloomsbury, 1997, 1st Canadian Edition, 2nd Printing, 1997. ------------(  2nd printing of the First Raincoast Edition ) ----hardcover, about 5.25w x 8h inches, a Near Fine example, a wee bit of light rubbing, a very faint hint of slight rippling to first few pages but this has not been exposed to moisture ---in a  Fine dustjacket,  a bit of age toning to paper,  looks new,  no writing in the book, ---number line shows this as the 3rd printing but it is actually the 2nd Canadian printing as the true Canadian First had a number line that started with a 2,  this 2nd/3rd edition is the FIRST RAINCOAST edition with illustrated boards that match the dustjacket (previous printing had plain blue boards with the illustrated dustjacket), this has both errors  as seen in earlier printings (which are: Line 1, page 8 had "highchair" instead of "high chair" ; and on page 53 in the list of "Other Equipment" needed for Hogwart's School, " 1 wand " is listed twice),  the upper portion of the spine of the book and jacket and the rear panel of the book and jacket show the young magician ( Dumbledore?? ) vs later issues which show an older magician (who is clearly Dumbledore),  ---this edition shows Bloomsbury on the title page and on the copyright page AND has Raincoast on the lower spine tip of the jacket and the book, as well this has a Bloomsbury ISBN on the rear panel of the jacket (shows Raincoast on the bar code) and the book and on the copyright page, ---copyright page states  "Printed and bound in Canada by Friesens", ----rear panel of the jacket has the short description of the story (later printings have a rear panel showing multiple reviews rather than a precis of the story),  ---the RAINCOAST editions are identical in format to the UK editions and use BRITISH spelling and grammar ---,  any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo  ///NOT SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE/// ---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)---. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Near Fine (see desciption)/Fine (see description). Illus. by Thomas Taylor Cover Art. 5.25w x 8h Inches. Flap Not Clipped.
