Illustrated throughout with the same lovely pencil drawn illustrations as the cover without creditation to the artist(s). Laid in is the original card acknowledging an order mishap. As a fundraiser to be sold by mail order and at the yearly Fall Harvest Festival (now known as the Apple Festival) this collection of recipes was solicited through the Mill Neck Manor Bulletin. The request was to the friends of the Manor to send in their favorite recipes using apples, honey, cider, and home remedies using these ingredients. Some 32 Apple Crisp recipes were received, although not all are represented within the cookbook. Table of Contents: Beverages; Bread and Rolls - also Pancakes, Fritters, Dumplings; Main Dishes; Salads and Dressings; Desserts - Puddings and Ice Cream; Cookies; Cake; Icings and Toppings; Pies; Jams, Jellies, Butters; Pickles and Relishes; Tips and Home Remedies. What a wonderful collection here are just a few of the dishes offered with page numbers: Apple Corn Griddle Cakes, 43; Roast Duck German Style, 78; Cider Waldorf Mold, 99; Honey Gingernuts; Honey Raisin Pie, 268. To Remove a Splinter (with honey), 307. Exceptionally nice copy with mild edge wear, no markings. Vintage book gift quality. ; 8vo .
