Have Gun, Will Travel

Racine, WI: Whitman, 1959. 1st edition. Good. Nicholas S. Firfires. This is a novel based on the hit TV series of the same name, featuring the character Paladin, and was authorized by CBS. The cover illustration represents Richard Boone in character, and there are many color illustrations throughout the book, created by Nicholas S. Firfires.

This copy has rubbing at the base of the spine, and an area of less than a square inch at the top of the spine that is delaminating. Otherwise the cover is in very good condition, with bright color. There are marks from a small liquid spill at the top of some pages, but the pages themselves are unmarked. There is yellowing of the low-quality paper used for these adapted novels, but only what is normal for their age. Internal illustrations are clear and colors are as originally printed.

This is a lovely collectible for those who want to revive memories of a classic Western from the late fifties, or who want to meet this heroic traveler for the first time.
