Dundee: Printed by A. Smith & Co. for the Editor, 1812. 8vo, pp. liv, [ii], 144. Near-contemporary half calf, marbled boards, spine divided by double gilt rules, black morocco label, other compartments tooled in blind. Somewhat soiled and marked. Binding rubbed and worn. Ownership inscription of Janet Alexander, Schoolhouse, Monikie, to first page, inscription to Wm. Alexander to flyleaf, binder’s ticket of S. Gellatly, Arbroath, to pastedown. A provincially-printed edition of Ross’s poem, with local provenance: printed in Dundee, it was owned by Janet Alexander of the village of Monikie, 10 miles along the coast, and bound by Stewart Gellatly of Arbroath, a further ten miles further east. SBTI records Gellatly as being active between 1825 and 1852.

About McNaughtan's Bookshop
Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland.
