About This Item
Chicago: The Goldsmith Publishing Company A well read book, not dated but would think an early 1900s edition. Pages yellowed evenly! Inscription on ffep ( which is loose) dated 1939 but as stated I think the edition is earlier.Gutter at front is cracked but binding is still solid. Green cloth covered boards with two children and a goat illustrated. All edges are rubbed and fraying at spine ends. Written for adults but became very popular with children ..... even made into a film!
Reviews
On Dec 18 2023, Portia's Books said:
Helen's Babies tells the story of Harry, the brother of Helen. Helen and her husband Tom ask him to stay with their preschoolers while they are out of town, with hilarious results. Habberton drew on observations of his own children for both this, and Mrs. Mayburn's Twins. He renders childrens' dialogue with phonetic accuracy, adding to the charm. Helen's Babies, published at the end of the 19th century was a success as a book for children.
