About This Item
Berlin: S Fischer. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket as Issued. No date - 1898-1902?. The complete set, in German Gothic script. Once part of the library of Ibsen expert, Professor James Ma cFarlane. Each volume is unmarked save for a pretty ex-libris label on the inside front cover, reading 'e libris Dr. E Cohn'. Bindings tight, though some hinges have partial cracks. The jugenstijl, bevilled-edged, grey cloth boards are bright and very little worn. Gilt titling on spines bright, likewise Fischer emblem on back covers. Some volumes have a little bumping to corners and slight rubbing to heads and feet of slightly sunned spines.Vol. 3 has a zig-zag shaped tear about 4cm long across the lower part of the spine. Vol. 4 has a 7cm tear along the back edge at the foot of the spine. Vol. 6 has a similar, but shorter tear in the same location. Vol.10 has a 2 cm tear at middle of head of spine. All in all, a very handsome, uniform set. This item is heavy and will incur some extra postage.
