About This Item
London: Thames & Hudson, 1980. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. Hardback in laminate boards. 21 × 25.5cm, unpaginated. During several months in a studio that overlooked a sheep meadow, the artist produced a charming sketchbook full of sheep: ewes nurturing their lambs, lambs playing in the meadow, & the swollen stateliness of sheep with full coats of wool. The sketchbook was presented to his daughter Mary. This facsimile copy has comments by both Henry Moore and Kenneth Clark. Condition: Very good condition, but with a few spots of foxing to the top edge.
