NY: Scribner's, 1963. First Edition. 8vo, pp. 456. Illustrated with photographs. Nice, in very slightly scuffed and chipped dj. Lehman, of the Lehman Brothers banking family, succeeded FDR as governor of New York, championing the New Deal in that state. From 1943 to 1946 he was the director of UNRRA, dispensing war relief, and from 1950 to 1956 he was a Democrat U.S. senator from New York, during which time was in the forefront of the fight against Joseph McCarthy.
