About This Item

Paul Angle's Here I Have Lived takes its title from a phrase in Lincoln's Farewell Address to the people of Springfield, IL. This is a careful account of the community where Lincoln rose from relative obscurity to the most powerful office in the county. More than a major contribution to Lincolniana, it is a study of the founding and growth of a typical American frontier community. Among Paul Angle's titles were Executive Secretary of the Abraham Lincoln Association, Illinois State Historian, and Director of the Chicago Historical Society. He was the author of over 20 books about Lincoln and Illinois History. Reprinted by Abraham Lincoln Book Shop. Minor shelf and storage wear, else as new; d.j. Angle, Paul M. HERE I HAVE LIVED Chicago: (1971). 2nd ed., 2nd print., 313p., illus., notes, index, dj.
