Health and deep breathing exercises for the benefit of tuberculosis patients written by Methodist clergyman, lecturer, and editor, Rev. James Monroe Buckley (1836-1920). Outdoor exercises are promoted as are the healthful climates of Florida, Georgia, Colorado, California, and Texas.
Accompanied by a promotional brochure touting the use of "Dr. John M. Howe's Tube," an inhalation device claimed to cure or arrest various throat, lung, and digestive disorders such as bronchitis, hemorrhages, and lung congestion. The brochure contains a testimonial from Buckley who used the device for elocutionary exercises.
