About This Item

1695 Bible JUDAISM ART Jewish Prophecy Pagan Occult Moloch Dutch Wits Witsius

Hermann Wits was a 17th-century Dutch monastic theologian who studied systematic theology. While most of his works were written to help reconcile Johannes Cocceius's theology with orthodoxy, one of his works was 'Miscellaneorum sacrorum' – a collection of biblical commentaries and summaries on a broad variety of topics. Notable topics covered in this work include:

· Bible prophets and prophecy

· Levitical mysteries

· pagan worship of Moloch (from Leviticus)

· on the Jewish Sanhedrin

· interpretation of apocalyptical letters, Revelation

· on Donatism, dark ages schism

This 1695 edition was published in Lugduni Batavorum by Frederic Haaring.
