The Countess and her husband, Daniel Knox, Sixth Earl of Ranfurly, founded the Ranfurly Library Service, later known as Book Aid International. 250 pages with Index, photos through the text, 6-1/4" X 9-1/4". No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. No creases to the cover or spine. Slight bump to the top right corner of the text block. A couple tiny dots of age tanning to the fore edge. Not a remainder, not a library discard. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.

Chronologically, the second book of the diaries of Hermione, Countess of Ranfurly. The papers were edited by her daughter, Caroline Simmonds, who has inscribed and signed this copy on the title page. The 'Whitaker' in the title referred to the family cook/butler. A near fine copy of the first edition with minor wear to the edges of the covers.
