Frontis + 42 other b/w engraved illustrations mainly full page all as called for. Revised edition 1899. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. Good (Heavy bump to tail of spine which had caused cloth to split - repaired with new cloth under, moderate general shelf wear with tips of boards exposed at corners, no previous owner name or insc. The binding of the book block is by staples through each signature to tapes, a revolutionary form of binding during the latter half of the 1800's and which has not stood the test of time. The last signature being part of the calalogue at rear had pulled from the binding and we have tipped in with p.v.a. No other notable faults).
