About This Item

Canton, OH: Daring Books, 1985 Daring Books. Canton, OH. 1985. Hardcover. Book Club Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Near Fine: light bumping to head and tail. DJ; Very Good; closed tear and missing small piece at bottom of front panel; small closed tear at bottom of rear panel. Blue paper over boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 235 pp 8vo. The authors chronicle the events surrounding and including three separate military-type operations aimed at investigating and freeing American POWs who remain in Southeast Asia. This book covers the third operation led by LTC James "Bo" Gritz, an independent operation which he organized and headed called Operation Lazarus. Patterson was the second n command and gives vivid descriptions of the horrors they endured in Laotian Communist territory. The operation was a failure mostly due to poor cooperation from the US Government. This stunning expose employs objective documentation and skillful storytelling abilities. Insight, opinion, and fact combine to relate a tale which smacks of timely importance and it should be an inspiration to begin again the search for American POWs. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
