Erste Ausgabe von Wolters programmatische Schrift zum Selbstverständnis des George-Kreises. Obwohl auszugsweise in Georges "Blätter für die Kunst" publiziert, hier als Opus I der Einhorn-Presse erstmals vollständig veröffentlicht. Eines der wenigen in Halbpergament gebundenen Exemplaren. Signiert und nummeriert durch Melchior Lechter.

Beschreibung: Original Halbpergamenteinband mit Pergamentecken und Pergamentintarsie mit dem Einhorn-Signet auf dem Vorderdeckel. Quartband: 37 × 24 cm; pp. 67. 2 Titelseiten mit reicher ornamental-symbolischer Ausschmückung, 3 grossen, als Randleiste gestaltete Bild-Initialen und 60 kleinen Initialen. Titel und Initialen in "Lechter-Schrift", der Text in der Neuen Elzevir gesetzt, gedruckt in Rot (Druckvermerk Seitenzahlen) und Schwarz auf grauem Tonbütten, der Buchblock unbeschnitten.

Zustand: Das Pergament an wenigen Stellen schwach beschabt. Ansonsten ein tadelloses Exemplar.

Notizen: Auszug aus dem Druckvermerk: "Es bestehen fuenfhundert handschriftlich mit Monogramm und der laufenden Zahl gezeichnete Stuecke auf handgeschoepftem Tonbuetten-Papier mit signiertem Wasserzeichen, mit farbigem handgefertigtem Tunkvorsatz und in Pergament gebunden". Neben den üblicherweise in Ganzpergament ausgegebenen Exemplaren, wurden ein paar wenige in Halbpergament gebunden, so das vorliegende Exemplar mit der Nr. 313.

First edition of Wolters' fundamental writing on the self-perception of the "George Kreis". Signed and numbered by Lechter. Description: Original vellum spine and corners, with onlaid press device in gilt to upper board. Folio: 37 × 24 cm; pp. 67. 2 title pages with rich ornamental decoration, 3 large and 60 small initials. Edges untrimmed. Condition: Very light shelfwear to boards. Otherwise a fine copy. Notes: Only a few copies were bound in half vellum.
