Includes a signed presentation slip from the author.. Octavo, xxvi, [2], 340, [2] pp. Text in Dutch. Contemporary dark green leather, title in gilt over red label. Gilt decorations on spine and covers. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers, decorative gilt turn-ins. Label of A.V. Rossum Hof-Boekbinder on front pastedown endpaper. Frontispiece portrait of Admiral Kinsbergen, 7 plates with facsimile signatures at end. (Bibliographie Neerlando-Russe 176) A unique presentation copy, with dedication plate from the author affixed to the title page. This work is the first official biography of Dutch naval officer, Jan Hendrik van Kinsbergen, known as the Count of Doggersbank. Van Kinsbergen was a prominent Dutch naval officer, author and philanthropist.
