NY: Wm Sloane, 1953. First editiont. Dark blue quarter cloth and sky blue paper-covered boards with gilt decorations. Printed price on dustjacket front flap upper corner and no blurbs on dustjacket rear flap. Few shallow depressions on the rear board and beginning toning on the board topedges; dustjacket with chipped spine ends and corners, shelfwear with few tiny chips and crease on rear panel. Very Good condition in a Good dustjacket with an archival cover. Gann's most popular novel and, unusual at the time, the screen adaptation was written by the author; directed by William Wellman and starred John Wayne who also was the producer. Gore Vidal made a cameo appearance.. First Edition. Hardcovers. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
