Philadelphia: Macrae Smith, 1950. Hardcover. Fine/good. Hardcover in light turquoise cloth. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "For Rip, Tear & Gramma--and maybe the rest of the mob/ E.E. Halleran". 251 pp. No statement of edition but copyright page notes that the book was published in condensed form in Two Western Books magazine under the title "Hoot Owl Range". Fine in edge tattered disty jacket. Novel of the American West in which the large cattlemen war with the nesters beleived to be guilty of dirty work and rustling. Complete with a lovely young widow, a bank robbery, a vicious murder, and ultimate justice. Books inscribed by Halleran, a prolific author of westerns, are remarkably scarce.
