[Associated American Artists]. First Edition. Print. Old tape along the outer edges on the verso. Near Fine. Original lithograph (12" x 15", image size 10" x 13-1/2") SIGNED by the artist in pencil at the lower right. Published by the Associated American Artists. Fletcher Martin (1904-1979) gained a reputation for his paintings of the San Francisco waterfront, rodeos, and boxing matches. He worked as an assistant to Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros in the early 1930s and received several mural commissions from the WPA. His work is represented in the collections of the Library of Congress, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Metropolitan Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Art, Denver Art Museum and the Houston Art Museum.
