New York, NY: Harper & Row, 1972. First Edition/First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good/Very Good-/Very Good-. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Vol. One, Herodotus to Froissart. 431 pp. Book has slight right lean, light corner bumping and spine end wear. Rear board has small snag in fabric of top edge near hinge.Bottom page edge has shelf soiling on corners, but interior is clean. Dust jacket has price intact and a little chipping on corners and spine ends. Front panel has a slit (closed) 3 1/2". Spine is slightly tanned. Vol. Two, Valla to Gibbon, 406 pp. Book has slight right lean and light corner and spine end bumping. Top edge of front board has small worn spot in fabric near forward corner. Page edges have some light soiling/spotting, but interior is clean. Dust jacket has price intact and light edgewear. Front panel has substantial dark rubbing, while spine has some light rubbing. Rear panel shows light smudging, and both flap folds show a little rubbing wear. Both dust jackets now in protective cover.
