New York: Longmans, Green, & Co., 1904. 1st Edition Thus . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Red cloth with gilt lettering and decoration. Fine but heavy waterspotting to spine and front board, and a little to rear board (almost as if having been caught in a rain shower before being whisked indoors); also a slight cup ring to front board. Light soil and edgewear; spine slightly toned; slightly bumped spine ends; fraying just starting at spine ends. Binding a little tender, text clean. Interior lightly toned and foxed. Mezzotint frontis portrait of Elizabeth Canning, with tissue guard. Bookplate to front pastedown. Brief note in ink to ffep. Not ex-library. 304 pages.
