During the eighty years between the publication of that map and the date of this article, "five new, separately prepared, and distinctly different geological maps of Kentucky have been produced: each one a marked improvement scientifically over its predecessor; each one destined to fill an imperative economic need in the development of the mineral resources of the Commonwealth." They are also described. .
