London: Printed for Strahan, T. Cadell. Very Good+. 1792. Sixth Edition. Hardcover. 1`; Handsome nineteeth century three-quarters leather over marbled boards with matching endpapers. Top edges gilt. Sixth edition, complete in three volumes. Illustrated with three fold-out maps and a fold-out page of drawings. (xlvii) ,388pp, ; 409pp; 439pp plus 37 pages of index. With the engraved bookplate of "The Library at Carolands" on each front pastedown. This was the 98-room mansion constructed for Harriett Pullman Carolan in Hillsborough, California. All three volumes are tight, clean & intact. Very few flecks of foxing, early owners signature, a few pages with slightly age toned edges. Supple leather and clean boards. Page 263 has a small piece (1/2") missing from bottom corner. A few pencil margin notes. Small paper tear in fold of drawing. Americana, History ; Maps & Drawings; 8vo 8" - 9" ; 1236 pages .
