London: Hamilton, Adams & Co, 1842. Specially bound by R Allen Bookbinders Nottingham for Author Rev Andrew Bloxham and later gifted to his son Andrew Roby Bloxham in 1877 who was the Registrar for the Supreme Court of New Zealand with an inscription to first blank. Also inserted is a panoramic half tone photo of the view from roof of Annery House with pencil inscription to verso from Maria & John (Maria Somes who was the owner of Annery House and the widow of Joseph Somes Director of the New Zealand Company) looking towards where to woods once stood taken by Leslie Bryden a Bloxham cousin. CONTENTS Burgundy Leather heaving tooled in gilt to front and rear, gilt tooled edge and dentille gilt decoration inside edge, bright gilt to all edges, nice Victorian decorated end pages in blue, engraved frontis, bastard title and title pages, hand coloured illus of a map, geographical section and a bird. Pp xii 192, 80 pages appendix, with 17 illus plates, wood block illus through text. CONDITION Leather to spine heel is chipped with some loss else nice with light rubbed edges, internally bright and crisp with heavy foxing to front engraved titles due to absorbent paper type, foxing to some pages where plates are present and this tissue guards when affected. Odd pencil notation to margins mainly at botany section of the appendix in the Authors hand. A very nice copy.. Signed Association Copy. First Edition. Full-Leather. Very Good/N/A. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
