The volumes contain the 1883 Armorial bookplate of Charles Arthur Wynne Finch (1841-1903) of Voelas, Denbighshire.
The first and best edition, the reprint of 1830 being a abridgement. "As an antiquary Bayley's attainments were of a high order. His History of the Tower ranks among the very best of works of its kind for excellence of style, acuteness of judgement, and unfailing accuracy of statement" - DNB.
