Contrary to most county histories that are filled with family photos and their interpretation of history, this book is a recounting of the historical events in and around Bourbon County starting with The Louisiana Purchase, then the building of Fort Scott, then into statehood and slavery issues, Jayhawkers and Border Ruffians, and finally into the Civil War issues. A clean very presentable copy.
