Top edge stained blue, xx + 236 pp Frontis + 63 other full colour plates as called for. Foreword by H Hughes-Stanton. Extensive Biographical list of painters to rear. 2nd Edition 1929 (Revised and Enlarged). Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. Very Good/ Good (Book - shelf wear to cloth with corner tip of bottom front board exposed, fading to extremities, hint of foxing to end papers, moderate to fore edge of book block. Dust Jacket - heavy rubbing with loss and one significant tear. Max loss to head up to 4 mm approx in depth and "L" shaped tear hinge to front panel and across spine of 45 x 50 mm approx. Laid on colour plate intact. Now in a removable proprietary protective sleeve to which pieces of coloured paper have been inserted to mask the stark white of the backing paper so as not to offend the eye on the bookshelf.
