About This Item
Toronto: Oxford University Press, 1950. New edition. 22 cm x 14 cm, dark blue cloth, pp. vii, 449. The first part of this historical study was originally published in 1942, and is reprinted here with no changes except the correction of a few errors. The second part chronicles the development of Canadian foreign policy since 1919. The front endpaper bears the ownership signature of CSL JE Vance. John Elwood 'Jack' Vance CMM, CD (28 July 1933 - 10 September 2013) served as Lietenant-General and Vice-Chief of Canada's defence staff, and was second in command of Canada's armed forces before his retirement in 1989. The text bears a few minor pencil annotations in Vance's hand. A card for an RMC christmas dance is laid in. Near fine in a very good, price-clipped dust jacket. .
