This extremely well-preserved 387-page paperback is the 1979 Revised Edition with the addition of two Chapters bringing the history of Christian theology up to the present time. The back cover states: 'This scholarly volume comprehensively surveys Christian theology and its development through twenty centuries…. it traces historical developments from pre-Christian time (Jewish and Greek) and early Christianity to twentieth-century trends…. The author's perspective is thoroughly evangelical. The books 30 chapters re divided into four parts: 1. Rise and Development of Doctrine in the Patristic Age; 2. Preservation, Transformation, and Development of Doctrine in the Scholastic Period; 3. Development and Fixation of Doctrine Through the Reformation and Counter-Reformation; 4. Aspects of Doctrine in the Modern Era.' A few pages of the "Table of Contents" are pictured to show detail.
Fine! OPENS AS NEVER USED! NO markings whatsoever! NO name written inside but there is a nameplate on the FEP. The spine is undamaged & the binding is tight almost as if unused.
