London, G. and W.B. Whittaker, 1818. 5th. Hardcover. Acceptable. 5 volumes. 5th ed. Bound in contemporary blue boards. Some loss to paper spines. Vol. 1's front board detached. 22 cm. Clean, unmarked pages. This work originally appeared in two volumes in 1793. The 2nd ed, London, 1801, was enlarged by the addition of v. 3, which was another issue of the author's "An historical survey of the island of Santo Domingo", London, 1801 (originally published 1797) The 5th ed. reordered the articles in v. 1-3. The continuation (v. 4-5) appears first in this edition. Note: Lacks the atlas volume, so no maps or plates are present. A contemporary account the British West Indies 10 years before the abolition of slavery. Sabin 21901 <br> This is an oversized or heavy book, which requires additional postage for international delivery outside the US.
