About This Item
London: Penguin (Pelican series). 1st thus (orig.1924-1926) . p/back. Good-VG. 10.5 Cms x 18 Cms. In somewhat varied condition, 2 still with orig. dust-jackets (wrapaounds to one nearly detached), all have a prev. owner's sig. to front, and one another earlier owner's name top front cover, page edges browning to varying degrees as usual for Pelican's of this vintage, most covers bright and none significantly worn, all tight and seem to be internally unmarked. The first three vols. are 'A History of the English People in 1815' (on all t.p.s but only on Vol.3 cover); the second three are 'A History of the English People Epilogue 1895-1905' (with differing sub-titles). With one exception (Vol.1) these are all 1st Pelican eds., Vol.1 is second (June) year of publication. What we do not have are the volumes on the 19th century itself, these however were not issued in this Pelican series, though the Introduction to Vol.4 implies that he wrote them. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
