Contains a black and white illustrated frontis. Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages are lightly tanned with occasional speckles of foxing throughout. Severe cracking to hinges causing boards to be loose. Binding throughout remains firm. Minor black marks to pages. Text is unaffected. Small tears and creases to tissue guard protecting frontispiece. Boards have visible edge wear and peeling to corners and spine. Moderate bumping to corners and fair crushing to spine ends. Splitting to joints. Leather peeling to corners, spine and edges. Gilt lettering is darkened. Book has a slight forward lean.
